quick&easy kiln or workable substitute?
#1
i just had somwhere between 60-90 lbs of brass scrap fall into my lap and i want to melt it. my only problem is my last ceramic crucible from my highschool ceramics class is dead, split right down the midle right after i moved it off after pouring. i gotta get myself more crucibles, i know enough to make them, but i do not have a kiln to fire them. would i be able to fire in my furnace/forge (i can switch between the 2 "modes") or would i need somthing more complex to get the job done right?

Please correct me if I am wrong.
