This subject may have been here already, but I couldn't find it... Does anyone know which war chants or battle cries the Greek armies had ?
Connolly mentions something like "Who is a brave man ? etc.", but were there any more of them?

There is a 'Battle Cry' thread, but it's more for Romans.

The enemy is less likely to get wind of an advance of cavalry, if the orders for march were passed from mouth to mouth rather than announced by voice of herald, or public notice. Xenophon

Dear Stefane, please remind me, for which god's honour, this war-cry ("Eleleleu!") is about? I've read it before, but I forgot it now (am I getting... old and having... amnesia? )

Oh... I had to check my texts, written for my ex-team/forum "Hegemonia: City-States" PC game's mod...
By that war-cry, "ELELEU", they evoked the War God, 'ENYALOS'... (Xenophon's "10.000 march" or in Hellenic, "Kyrou Anavasis")
Regards my lady...
