supplier for apron studs?
#1
I guess Albion's out of the apron stud market, so who's providing these now? I actually need tinned (or ones that can be tinned) or silver ones, and, those in the Americas preferably.

Rich checkout Clang Armoury, as I suggested on Sunday. Mark does excellent work, and is a very good guy to deal with.

Holger Ratzdorf has nice apron studs. Also have a search through Raymond's quiet press website.

Imperium Ancient Armory will stock apron studs, precisely the same type as Albion offered, come mid-September.

Matt busy...no way!

Last I heard he was sunning himself on some exotic beach drinking pina-colatas and eating chilled grapes while being fanned by some dusky skinned young maiden with a palm ....

Right Matt?...

Matt is super busy -- I know because he is making my Lorica Squamata at his folks' house in Ontario.

I have ordered from CLANG many times in the past and have used his products in the past. Big Grin

cool , but i had a problem of the shanks being to hard on the albion ones. i would peen them down (after i cut the length) and some still managed to damage the front of the stud

Chuck,

You can anneal the studs before you peen them down. Also, I put a few layers of duct tape over my anvil and peen them against that. Works pretty well in preventing the damage to the front of the studs. Thin leather works as well.
