Salvete Omnes,
A good friend of mine from another Roman forum had posted there a collection of links to websites which deal with Latin Inscriptions, so I'd like to pass his information on to you guys here:
I hope you find these useful.
A good friend of mine from another Roman forum had posted there a collection of links to websites which deal with Latin Inscriptions, so I'd like to pass his information on to you guys here:
Quote:http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/ , the Perseus Project;
http://www.gnomon.ku-eichstaett.de/Gnomon/ILS.html , the Inscriptiones Latinae Selectae (ILS, a major resource);
http://www.ilateyst.de/ , the ILS 'folio-server' accessed via the above; and
http://asgle.classics.unc.edu/abbrev/latin/ , 'Abreviations Used in Latin Inscriptions'.
Last night I discovered that the Folio-server for the actual inscriptions, on which some of the others depend, is 'Temporarily Unavailable' and has been for some time. I've found us an alternate that I hope will fulfill at least some of the need:
http://www.uni-heidelberg.de/institute/ ... ex.html.en
This is the University of Heidelberg's Epigraphy Databank. It contains a large part of the content of the ILS, and is growing as various national and regional inscription registries are consolidated.
