I was a new member awhile back and then there were some forum changes and I couldn't find the link. Duh. Anyhow, I finally found it from another forum and am back to hang out with everyone. Looking forward to getting to know you guys again.
I'm the one with the big black horse that also partcipates in the SCA fighting. :lol:

My avatar is a large portrait that was done of my horse and me by a lady on the east coast. She can put you in any type of scenario you want. From Klingons to Xena. And yeah, I had one done with the God of War himself (Ares from Xena). :oops: But this one I wanted with my horse.
I gave her creative liberty with the armor and background.

I'm not as involved with An Tir's equestrian as I'd like to be right now. Solon doesn't fit into any of the horse trailers at the barn where I board, but hopefully soon I can get a custom one or hire someone to haul his big booty around! :twisted:

Still working on the more authentic kit. I have my SCA gear almost ready to fight in. I haven't really found a good cavalry helmet though.
And now the SCA is allowing us to do mounted combat but you have to have a chamfron to protect your horse. Some people are using the race horse 'hood's with the eye coverings. But I'd like to make one that looks more authentic but not sure if I want to use metal.
Has anyone here made a chamfron? I should probably ask that in one of the other forums?
