Hard to Find Books on Auxiliary Formations
#1
Folks, does anyone know of a reliable book dealer besides Amazon that I might get the following books from?

Cheesman, G. 1914. The Auxilia of the Roman Army. Oxford University Press. (Albeit a little out of date now)

Holder, P, A. 1980. Studies in the Auxilia of the Roman Army from Augustus to Trajan. BAR International Series 70.

All five of Margaret Roxan and Paul Holder Roman Military Diplomas books

Saddington, D, B.1975. The Development of the Roman Auxiliary Forces from Augustus to Trajan

Spaul, J. 2000. Cohors2: The evidence for and a short history of the auxiliary infantry units of the Roman Imperial Army. BAR International Series 841

Spaul, J. 2000. Ala2: Auxiliary Cavalry Units of the Pre-Diocletian Roman Army

any and all help would be great,

Try Oxbow and addall.com/used. A reprint of Cheeseman is still in print, I believe, but Saddington & Holder are going to be very difficult to get.

The US publisher Ares in Chicago reprinted Cheesman along with HMD Parker The Roman Legions.
Holder & Saddington - no chance, I'd say, I've been trying for years! But if you can get hold of Saddington's article, “The development of the Roman auxiliary forces from Augustus to Trajanâ€

Oh, it's possible but very hard. I managed to get Holder a few years ago. Paid a lot though. One of those things where if you see them, you have to snap them up.
Greets!

update (Mike, how deep's your pocket?)

RMD 4, Roxan & Holder (2003, BICS Supplement 82) is still available from the Institute of Classical Studies, though their website is rubbish!

RMD 5, Holder (June 2006, BICS Supplement 88) - have just received pre-publication flier with my Roman Society stuff. ISBN 978-1-905670-01-7.
oh common, guys, how can I get eighty-eight in arabic numerals without getting that flipping smiley in there?!

4 will set you back £75; 5 will sell for £80 Confusedhock:
