Ave omnes,

there’s another German small but nice book about Roman helmets, but unfortunately out of print for some decades

Hans Klumbach
Römische Helme
Köln/Bonn 1974
ISBN 3-7927-0195-2

This small book is a catalogue of an exhibition in Bonn/Germany in 1974. Size 21 x 15 cm.
70 pages text and 50 pages black/white photographs.

The featured helmets are from several German and Dutch museums (like Bonn, Tier, Münster, Mainz, Nijmegen, Leiden)

Helmets and finding places:

2 x Latene (Flüren, Trier)
6 x Montefortino (Düsseldorf, Olfen, Wardt, Buggenum, Pannerden, Millingen)
17 x Hagenau ( 2 x Köln, Neuss, Flüren, 2 x Xanten, Haltern, Wardt, Hönnepel, Wissel, Lobith, 4 x Nijmegen, Alem, Texel)
3 x Weisenau (Haltern, Niedermörmter, Nijmegen)
3 x Niederbieber (Niederbieber, Hönnepel, Amerongen)
9 x Cavalry (Koblenz, 6 x Nijmgen, Amerongen, Bodegraven
10 x Cheek guards (Venlo, Xanten, 6 x Nijmegen, IJzendoorn, Vechten)
4 x Face/Mask helmets (2 x Nijmegen, Ubbergen, Vechten)
1 x Late Roman (Deurne)
2 x Gladiator fragments (Xanten, Nijmegen)

I’ve got it via our public library network.
Greetings from germania incognita

Heiko (Cornelius Quintus)

Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?
Lots more helmets added to the database, but I see no pictures???? Sad
Pics still need to be uploaded.
