I play DBA and DBM. A friend of mine created AWR (ancient warfare), a bit more realistic, but similar

What do you want in a game?
Checkers? ---DBA great for quick and fun games. I prefer "Piquet" for a military simulation of the problems and challenges of commanding on the battlefield, but many people find it too random or unpredictable. (hint: keep a reserve force!) I have about 25 different sets of rules for ancients. Of course, I still have a seal copy of "Chainmail".

The Society of Anchients used to do a passable set of rules.
