Dr. Chadwick is to be greatly respected because he opened the way for us but there is no reson not to think Myceneans spoke wanax and not wa-na-ka.
There are may "classical" words endind in X
like
PORPAX = shield arm handle
STYRAX = spear butt
MEIRAX = boy
MOTHAX = half-helot (Spartan)
