Vexillum Pieces
#1
I have seen several vexilli (sp) from different groups and most seem to have knobs on the end of the horizontal piece that actually holds the banner. Are there any sources for these? anyone making them? I thought about using solid brass drawer pulls, but I cannot seem to find any at my local shop that I like.

Thanks

I made mine from the ends of brass candlesticks and silver plated them.

They still look quite good though!

Here they are...

And the whole vexillum...plus Terminals..

I payed less than one GB pound for them at a thrift/charity shop! A bargain! Big Grin

I used the end finials from an old brass hatstand that I pulled out of the trash! Several others became gladius scabbard finials. Perfect! Peroni's look even better, though...

Another option would be a replacement brass pin set for big door hinges. I've seen a couple style of those, very nifty. Or lamp finials.
