A US source for gladii blades
#1
I am having two Fulham blades made by a swordsmith in Arkansas named Mark.

www.swordsmith.net is his site.

His rates are very reasonable and his work is excellent! I can hardly wait to have my first gladius form him.

I have a spear tip from him. It is very strong, beautifully finished and wickedly  sharp! In fact, I had to dullen it a bit!

I think you`ll be pleasantly surprised! Perhaps you can post some photos when you receive them? (I have been playing with an idea of getting a spatha blade from him...)

Yup, we love him. He did my Hispaniensis blade and my socketed pilum, cheap and quick. But he moved to New Jersey, recently, and that set his schedule back a bit.

You will love what you get from him!

Ave et salutatio fraterii:

The good Marcus made a Fulham-pattern blade for me, and it is sharp enough to shave with....:-) ) He has also made a pair of weighted pila and a pair of socketd pila that I am hugely pleased with.
He has also made me several reproductions of 1st century Roman iron tools.
Definitely high onmy list of recommended fabricae.

I received an email from him stating that there is a 6 month wait for new blades and it will cost me 435 USD for a fully-mounted Fulham blade.

I like the Fulahm blade more than the Pompeii or Mainz. The shape is more pleasing to me.

I am also going to have a katana made for my friend as a wedding gift.
