I just purchased the book named in the title as a bargain. When flipping through it, it looks like that it covers a wide field of Roman life, not only gladiators and circus races but also triumphs and other aspects of the Roman public. But on the other hand it seems very lurid.

Did anyone of you read the book already? Or do you know the author?

If I remember correctly it takes a walk through the life of a Beast Fighter as a feature?

Not a heavy weight academic book but it covers all the bases.
