Fascia Crurales- Help needed
#1
Hi

Apparently according to Galen soldiers wore Fascia Crurales on the legs. Does anyone have the exact reference, context and or translation etc.. for this.

Many thanks

Graham.

I find it hard to believe that Galen, who wrote -as far as I know- in Greek, used this expression. The Greek term must be something like tainia, I guess, but I think this is not a big help.

Hello Jona

I think you are right these things could be mentioned in his treatise on medical bandages the title of which might have been translated into Latin. This might help narrow down the search.

Graham.

p.s

I think I have narrowed the search even further! Galen De Fasciis II.472. Does anyone have this to hand?

Thanks Graham.
