Roman Military Units in the Battle of Chalons
#1
Hi Caius here, Just wondering we often here about how Flavius Aetius brought the Visgoths to fight on the Roman side in this Battle as well as other german groups. Does anyone know what Roman units were there in this Great Clash. I think for starters the Army of Gaul, however does anyone have actual unit names like at Adrinople? Just Curious Caius Cheers Big Grin

Have you read Jordanes' Getica? There's an online version at [url:2xmikriv]http://www.harbornet.com/folks/theedrich/Goths/Goths1.htm[/url] and your story starts at section 192.
