Normally you'd check Chantraine first and see where that leads you. Vernant has a lot of stuff on tekhne and related words and of course if you want to go really early you really need to check the "Lexikon Des Fruhgriechischen Epos" which along with Chantraine really needs to be your first stop for any such questions. "Episteme" as a term has had a lot of research poured onto it from the POV of early Greek thought and the orient and the medical tradition.
