Has anyone reproduced an accurate copy of this helmet? Sorry I didnt get to it yesterday.

You mean helmet V. 89.2/78.1 unearthed in 1989?

This is the one from:

Deschler-Erb, E. (et al.), 2004, Ein "Fellhelm" aus Vindonissa, in: JGPV 2004, 3-57.

The title 'a felt helmet' is misleading. It's a metal helmet, but it was found in a very strange felt/leather wrapping.

The cheek guards on this helmet are very much like the ones on the drusenheim so-called 'Coolus G' aren't they?

Actually, I think we are just seeing them from different angles. They look as if thay are the same shape as each other to me.

Regarding the cheek guards on the Coolus 'G', if I remember correctly the front projections curve up into points, which for some reason always remind me of boars' tusks.
