Well of course, there are the Ajax, Sparta and Heracles soccer clubs..
I always laugh (secretly) at the dumbfound faces when I ask Ajax fans after which Ajax their club is named...

How about "Phillistine Cultural Centre" ? Apparently, it's in Gaza ( courtesy of Tinker Naylor).

Philistines got only bad press just because medieval writers bushed them.
They were more cvilised from their adversaries. Kind regards

Actually, it's not surprising to find it there - Palestininian and Philistine are thye same word. It just so that they pronounce the 'P' as 'F', so we should be speaking about 'Falestine' anyway..

To go back to the initial posting, about "Odysseus Deluxe Travel Collection", here is the car that made me ask for more examples of particularly inept classical names for modern companies. I've spotted the car in my street several times, I do not know the owner. And I wonder who wants to travel with Odysseus, and be eaten by Cyclopes, changed into pigs, swallowed by the Charybdis, etc., and in the end find his home taken over by squatters.
To summarize the list of inept names:

I made this one up, Achilles socks, now with heel gaurd.
Dan/Anastasios of Sparta/Gaius Statilius Rusticus/ Gaius Germanicus Augustus Flavius Romulus Caesar Tiberius Caelius (Imperator  <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_twisted.gif" alt="" title="Twisted Evil" /> )

And I also thought of Narcissus Therapy, the slogan is Learn to love everyone.

Augean Waste Solutions
In my former job, these were a customer of mine. I always thought this was a really amusing name for a hazardous waste transfer station/ treatment, and disposal outlet . Especially as they specialised in recycling  I wonder if they ever managed to clear out their old stock, or did they have to get Hercules Environmental Ltd in to help them ?

And in this series of inept ancient names for modern companies, I proudly present: Pegasus Air. You remember what happened to Bellerophon? Indeed, he fell from his flying horse and was killed.
