I will be 52 next May 23, and after the Varus defeat, they would be keeping me in the army, not letting me out, even if I wanted out. That happened for real in 9 CE; there were some toothless old, old legionaries involved in the mutinies of 14 CE. Or as noted above with Cannae, they would take me gladly, in spite of my age.<br>
That aside, I only became involved in Roman army re-enacting at age 49. I feel like a latecomer, though I am loving every minute. I have had a lifelong love of all things Roman Army-or more specifically, all things Roman Legion!<br>
