Clipeus Examples
#1
Folks,

I am working on a Auxillary impression currently. I was wondering if any of you out there had any examples of a reconstructed Clipeus.

I saw some wonderful pics from a Auxilary group in Germany. I was wondering if there was any else out there.

Is there in example of a Celtic Bull?

Thanks,

Mike

A great place to start is Trajan's Column. There are many designs of clipeus depicted. It's where our unit took our design from. (Before Deepeeka started using it too!)

Some are discussed here.. http://www.redrampant.com/roma/auxshields.html

Another monument to see would be the Arch at Orange.
