I'd rather prefer to share a wine than a beer, but It goes along with personal tastes! :wink:
Correct me if Im wrong, but that paper is surely written in German, isn't it? :roll: Anyway, I'm interested on it, of course.
Does it solve my little problem about attaching the rim following a curved border? :?
And, finally, where could I get that tablet-woven rim?

I think we already settled it, and agreed on wine. However "You owe me a beer" sounds so wonderfully German, i simply can´t avoid saying it...

It solves the problem with the curved border, indeed. And it solves the problem of getting a tablet-woven rim: You make it yourself.

I know, however, the upper part is even more defiinitive about a weave pattern. I don't think it is linen, either.

You couldn't send me that article as well could you?
I will be in Germany for the 2009 Kalkriese event and possibly in Nijmegen (I think) for an event next year (provided I cut the neck guard off my helmet and paint my face red), so assuming you will be at either of these events I would definitely buy you a pint or two ("you owe me a beer" sounds wonderfully German, but 'I owe you a pint' sounds much more English).

There is definitely tablet woven trim found in Antinoe. I saw the extant trim in the fabric books from that find. I will put a picture up later

This picture is from The Coptic Tapestry Albums: And the Archaeologist of Antinoe, Albert Gayet. The books are fabrics that Albert Gayet cut up from his finds and put into two books. The pictures are good, but some of the colours are not quite as vivid as they are in real life (especially the red). It is truly amazing how bright the colours still are. Yeah dry caves! This picture shows some tablet woven bands.
