Roman - all periods
Ancient Warfare - non Roman, particularly Sarmatians and Macedonian
Napoleonic - Aside from witnessing a legion in formation, the only thing that would match that thrill would be seeing a division of King George IIIs redcoats and Highlanders in the field.
WWI & II - Very personal wars for me, due to my family's involvement.

I am interested in all warfare, from when the first man to pick up a rock in anger or fear, to what it is going on right now in the World and what I fear it is leading to.
From huge Armies clashing in places like Zama, to what happens in a dark parking lot, when someone is forced to defend their lives.
I am a martial arts instructor as well as a History buff, anytime someone is tryinf to kill or control another, it is war.IMO

I have to admit that I voted for 'eight or more' of the above, since the only ones I am not interested in are the '19th century US warfare, incl. Civil War' - although the Civil War does have a limited appeal when I am in a weird mood - and 19th century European and Colonial warfare, as I am just not interested.
However, I am most interested in:
Early Italy i.e. when Rome was just a small town that everybody could ignore! and when the Samnites and Etruscans were at their height;
Sumerian warfare, the earliest known;
The Fall of the West and the Rise of Byzantium, ie c. AD 400-600;
The Rise of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms, AD 400-600
and The End of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom, c. AD 1000-1100.
I hope that gives you enough information!!
Strangely enough, neither Alexander the Great nor Julius Caesar interest me - possibly because of overfamiliarisation: let's admit it, they are over-covered in the history books!!

It's important to know something about non-Roman ancient military history in order to better understand the obligation of Rome to civilize these barbarous rabble. Beyond that, there really is no point.

1) Ancient-Roman and Greek particularly,though of late im becoming obsessed with woad covered tribal warriors!
2)Im a fan of the Crusading era as well.
3)Napoleonic era-especially the French side(love la Garde Imperiale)
4)WW1 and WW2-interested in the Wehrmacht mainly!!

The US Civil War in general and the Battle of Gettysburg in particular have always fascinated me. In my 30's and 40's I spent alot of time reading about the US Army in WWII and the Korean War because of my father's participation in both. I am now refocusing on the Roman Army.
