Of all the classic match-ups ini the "Horror world", to me, none can compare with the Vampire vs Werewolf. It was brought to life in a very satisfying way (especially since Kate Beckinsale was cast) to screen in the form of Underworld. The concepts, and atmosphere of the movie made a great visual experience, and the story...oh my god...it actually had some depth to it.
The sequel, was just as good! It had a very intricate story further putting into light the centuries old struggle between the lycans (werewolves) and the vampires. The characters had as much depth in the sequel as the first, giving them believability as thinking and feeling...ummm...things.
I would definately recommend this movie, for anyone interested in the classic horror genre, as well as action movies. Nothing was overboad, nor was the SFX used as a crutch. It was well balanced, and there were even some humorous parts.
So who's side are you on, the vampires, or the lycan's? Or are you a hybrid?
