Athos canal / Isocrates quote
#1
My edition of Demetrius' treatise On Style offers a nice description of Xerxes' march to Greece: his soldiers were "navigating the land and marching across the sea" (§22). The editor helpfully remarks that this is a quote from Isocrates, but does not say where the great orator writes/speaks these words. Does anyone know?
