A colour question!

What kind of colour do you guys use when you paint your shields? I don´t mean green or red but rather how the colour is mixed and what it is based on! Oil, egg, plastic???

Currently, we're working with cassein and wax paints. We did use acrylic but that of course wasn't around back then. Some other groups are working with egg tempera. I think they'll all chime in shortly. You can find a number of other threads on this in the forum.
