Close up individual or group action photos
#1
The soldier’s personal impressions look great.

Just wondering, does anyone have some exciting close up individual or group action photos that they want to share? :?: I would love to see them. I believe the equipment and costumes are dramatically brought to life when photographed in action. Big Grin

We have about 600 images on our photobucket site. Some are cool in action ones.

Jaime,

I have enclosed a few action photos of our group.

3 were taken when we did a performance for The National State Archaeological Museums in Madrid, Spain.

1 was a battle seen that we did in a Short Film recreating a battle between Asturs & Cantabros against a Roman Garrison stationed in Ceasarobriga, Spain before the actual conquest of August Caesar over these last submitted tribes of North West Spain.

Jaime,

I hope this works out. Bit there must be an easier way to post an album shot as RUSTY made.

Jaime,

Here is a few more that were taken at the port town of ancient AMPURIAS, SPAIN, where Scipion landed his forces at the start of the SECOND PUNIC WAR.

I bring more down so you can see them.

The following dressed as a Roman Legate is me.

Traianus, what happened to the other helmet you had? The gallic modifyied for a legate? I liked more than the new one you show here!

Here are a couple in Germany of LEG II AVG I took ... and one of us gladiators from Ludus Gladiatorius.

Gladiators are a link because the image is too big:

Hi Graham,

thanks for the pics!

is there a reason why the gladiators are wearing a mix of equipment of various types rather than the specific equipment of a distinct gladiator type?

Yup, Afraid to say its the age of reason of budget and misplaced budget when the group was forming.

I (on the right) am dressed as a thracian but have a provocators helmet on - so was called either a thracacator or provocathrain I guess. My opponents kit is pretty much standard for a hoplomachus (greaves are maybe a little short and helmet crest needed to be changed).

When we started I was going to dress as a provocator, but we soon realised (there where only two of us at the time) that two identically dressed men might be a bit dull, but we didn't have the budget to replace my helmet at the time. All sorted this year though Big Grin hope this helps.

Faventianus,

I still have the mentioned gallic modified helmet, but our group is eventually changing to the late republic early imperial armour. More related to the Astures & Cantabros conflict.

What a shame! I liked that helmet because I've always been tired of that Hollywood look!
