Hi guys
Am busy getting ready for the festival this summer in Watford and need some pictures of Greek ladies attire. My partner Kelly will be joining in and we need some ideas of what either a Corinthian or a more frugal Cretan Lady might look like. All depends on where my Hoplite is going to come from. Colours and materials? Jewellery? Hairstyle? bearing in mind her hair is shoulder length.
Many thanks in advance
Mark.

Many thanks Spyros
Just added to my "Favourites" list. That should keep her busy for a while! - We will be in Athens in July hopefully and will be meeting Hoplite 14 (Stephanos) all being well, from the forum.
Are you coming to Watford?
Thanks again
Mark.

My bride to be will kill. Ah well, some other time. One can never know. Of course I can sell mayself to Stefanos and be his bagage carrier
.
That would be a good excuse eh? "But honey, my master ordered me to go!"

Hell!
If so many blokes keep getting married and having sproggs and stuff, we'll have to do the whole Festival again, next year!

Back on ladies clothes.
Most pottery and scalpture show godesses, high class ladies, or party dress.
Variations then:
Spartan red mini skirts (Fainomiridae!!) Go girlies!!!!!!!
Everyday woking dress with the skirt stopping 20 to 30 cm over the ankle.
Dancers pillar triptychon in Delphoi museum is a good example.
Lastly ladies of trading cities (Athens Corinthos) or of the many colonies would wear phoinician-italiotic or celtic chitons and jewelry.Tthe richest would aford even silk asiatic robes.
Kind regards
