I have it and it is a good read so far.

Its got just what I like in a book;

(1) Stuff I know ( makes me feel knowledgable )
(2) Stuff I dont know ( makes me feel un-knowledgable )
(3) Stuff I agree with ( makes me feel smug & self satisfied I am an expert:wink: )
(4) Stuff I dont agree with ( makes me want to research more ... as I may well be wrong :roll: )

Its far to easy for books on this subject to regurgitate what has gone before but I am not getting that impression with this one.

Many thanks chaps I'll let Susanna know.
We're always glad if people agree or disagree on points made... it all adds to furthering conversation, and making us all aware of new data, furthering our knowledge on this fascinating subject.

Once again, this task was helped considerably by contributions from people like Julian Dendy & Michael Hardy (RMRS), Graham Ashford (Ludus) Matt Bunker (ERA) and Mike Bishop.

One thing it has done for me is that I must now revisit the era of the Samnite wars as I had not given full consideration to the ubiquitous nature of some equipment across the peninsular.
