Khairete,
Quote:Wow! :o ...I think this gona big!, I dont know what effect the greeks can do to the non greek spectators, and to the reenactors? It will probably be quite intimidating for some and very emotional for others, I should think. If all the costume and equipment is good...and Stefanos has everybody shouting in ancient Greek, Doric, Spartan, etc depending on who they are portraying ....it will really feel like being transported back in time..it wil be awesome Did Paul say something about people from the Iranian Studies course portraying Persians....will some actually have Middle Eastern background....? Quote:I really hope they come, so Stefanus 'll feel very proud, and not alone! So do I...I was talking to my daughter about this today...and saying how good it will be to see and hear people of the genuine background and heritage portraying these warriors.... I can't wait until June......!!! regards Arthes

I seem not to have answered your question about greaves, Gioi. Since thay would need to be springy, they could probably be 18 gauge. I've got a really poor pair which seem to be 14 gauge, or heavier!
When you say the chap in the centre, raising his arm, looks like you, do you mean the one onthe ground or the one on top of the stone? He certainly looks as if he's caught the sun!

Personally, I thought some of it was not up to the standard of some of our colleagues here, especially the greaves. Wait 'till you see all the hunky tarts who are clamouring to come to the Festival. By the by, I'm going to be awarding the Apple of the Hesperides to the most beautiful Koura there; maybe you could judge a competition for Kouroi - or do you think it would be bad for your heart? |
