I'm not much given to inarticulate expressions of wonder, but wow!
In the 1960s British film, "Helen of Troy", the armour was of the Classical Period (thus faithful to the vase paintings, while historically inaccurate) but it was years ahead of its time in having painted helmets. Gorgeous! I have to confess, though, that the duel between Achilles and Hector, in this version was RUBBISH! Brad Pitt may have the mouth of a young girl, but that fight was pretty cool - for all its spear-swinging.

They are called ATHENEA PROMAKOS and are from Zaragoza, but they don't have a web page yet. I had a card from them but I'll have to find it out...

Greetings everyone, my apologies for resurfacing this old thread, but its funny as I'm working on these two pieces right now. Finding information on it is tough already, but coming across a thread discussing this was pure luck, and I'm quite happy I did. But to the question itself... I'm looking for the appropriate shield designs for the models. And with preliminary research, I have found nothing but this site itself and the information talked about here.

I was thinking of using the same designs on the shields, but I want to learn more about these two exactly, afterall this is what its all about, learning. So if there is any archaeological evidence (like coins, pictures, actual shields) can you point me in the right direction? And if I missed anything that was talked about here, my apologies. Again, sorry for resurfacing this, but finding information pertaining to these models has been quite interesting. Thanks for your time, and hope we share more conversations! Cheers.
