"Hi, I'm from Saltaire in the UK. Like Aulus I've posted a couple of articles on Ancient Vine, and I also have a few pages on Ancient Sites. I'm looking forward to helping out with pages relating to the Early Imperial period, Mainly the Julio-Claudians to the Adoptive Emperors.

I'm a 33 year old teacher of ICT, and my interest in Rome is purely that of an amateur so far, though I did study a module on the subject at Uni."
Hello! And welcome!

I would have responded to your original posts on Off-Topic but the subject of researching and writing is better suited for this forum.

Right now what I am mainly focusing my own efforts on is to finish my text on the Praetorian Guard. My partner Sander van Dorst is acting as Co-Editor for the Legions section of the RomanArmy.com site.

Have you taken a look around the site? Right now I've deliberately narrowed the navigation structure so that even though there are 40-odd pages in the site, only a small part is linked to the index page. I've bitten off what I thought we could chew for the time being.

Having said that, though, you certainly need not limit your own efforts to what is now linked on the site. As I noted on the home page, I have hidden the pages for the other areas listed.

One good example where you might find fruitful ground for research is the Imperial Biographies page -- take your pick of emperors, chronologically ordered.

Allies and Enemies will be a compendium of articles on the armies of the various nations that the Romans called friends and foes, organized by region.

Battles and Campaigns is a similar encyclopedic section organized by date (and searchable through the RA.com Search Page). Interested in Cannae? Or Trajan's Parthian war?

If you are a Roman army specialist, you might pick one of the legions of the Principate to research. Use the page for Legio I Italica www.angelfire.com/or2/jrs...talica.htm as an example.

I'm looking forward to working with you on the site!

Cheers,
