How large are the Deepeeka Helmets?
#1
'Ello,

I'm interested in knowing what kind of sizes the Deepeeka Gladiatorial helmets have. If they're semi-small on the inside, I'd be very interested in purchasing one! I have a 22.5" head circumference.

These are the two I'm specifically interested in:

Ave, Gregory! The Deepeeka ones will fit you fine. From the mass of literary and representational evidence we have on the gladiators, the helmets were purposely made oversized (and made even larger by the additions of tall combs, plumes, etc.); we can assume that the linings of each was fitted to each gladiator's head. I have the second one you list, and it fit my head w/o too much padding (I have a 23.5" head).

Now the ones sold by Mu Rep, which are made by Windlass steelcrafts, THOSE are big helmets!

I have your diameter head size.

I dont have any gladiator helmets, but I will tell you that my Italo-Attic (I think its called), Coolus E, Coolus G, Imp.Gallic C, and G, My Italic D and G, Aux B, and both versions of the von Graevert will fit your head, as far as the ones in my posession go. The bronze "Maintz" is a little bit large, but not excessively so. The Neider Momter is something to run screaming from unless you plan to wear your Aux B as a helmet liner...

Expect some variation in each helmet, as they are individually made. This may not help for Gladiator products, but may help you or others on the above listed products.
