Bloody hell, I can pick 4 out of the 5! The financial one being the lastest addition to my woes. Guess I'll have to work out which I think is the most troublesome

Almost forgot to mention I'm also a reenactor who tends to fight in his first battle unarmed. Yes its happened twice. Reenacting Mary's Hights at Fredricksburg (died), defending an outpost gate at Lafe AK with only my scutum and lorica (survided ).
actually I have never met anyone who wasnt financially challenged when it comes to reenacting. I had tried to get the whole tax emempt non profit thing going which would have been great but it was presented as next to impoissable. imagine buying that leather tent we've all been talking about and getting to claim it. with all the school demos ive done it would have been great for the kids to see a period encampment or for that matter imagine you rneighbourhood school with a period roman encampment set up. I know theres units out there capable of this but the more exposure we have the more we grow and educate. ( and maybe one day hollywood will get it right  )

I can consider myself too freaky and too obsessed.

I've been asked about my mail shirt, and after saying I did it myself, they told me: You don't have a girlfriend, do you? That made me think: Am I too freaky?
And obsesed... whenever I close my eyes what do I see? Helmets, just late helmets!!!

But I love it...

last year when the hurricanes came through and we had no power for 9 days the first time 7 days the second and 5 days the third I was living like i was back in the old days. aside from the very hot and humidity it didnt bother me until i lost my oil lamps in the last one. I would go to work and come home and read some Livy and Pliny. I got extremely good with flint and steel. But then the Air conditioning cam back the satellite TV the internet and the stupid phone. Somehwere though there has to be a happy middle.

Genderly and financially

I'm using some look alike stuff now till I get the funds to get accurate stuff.

I'm also height challenged. As a Syrian Aux. Archer I have to wear this tall pointy helmet ( http://www.by-the-sword.com/acatalog/images/ah-6712.jpg ) (I wish it was that shiney, but Deepeka put some wierd anti-rust stuff that flakes off when it comes into contact with anything remotley rough).

Anyway it's made for a full sized man, not a 5 foot 1 chick! so I look like a walking garden gnome (in all seriosness I do  ) The rest of my troop finds this never endingly amusing
