Question about Mediaeval gauntlets

(Sorry for posting this here but the Arador Armour Library forum is having hacking troubles so I hope you Romans can help me with Mediaeval stuff too)

- Where gauntlets also worn without a harness? like in combination with a coat of mail or something?

- What do you think about the gauntlets on the pictures below? are they accurate?
