In the latest book by Mr Sumner(Roman Military Clothing 3), he has an illustration of a Gothic (horse?)archer on page B. Biarchus of Cuneus Equitum Scutariorum: any one have any info an this unit?

Abstract: The castellum Iatrus had been founded in the first quarter of the 4th century as garrison of the cuneus equitum scutariorum (Notitia dignitatum, orientis 40,8). The architecture of this settlement period A, as it is excavated so far, mainly consists of buildings with military function as principia, praetorium, barracks, tabernae etc. In the last third of the 4th century the fort was rebuild by replacing the military buildings with small detached houses of irregular ground-plan. Furthermore, small workshops were set up at many locations, e. g. a bronze smith's workshop in the training hall of the yard of the former praetorium, fire pits for working iron in the forecourt of the principia and a small potter's workshop in the precincts of the tabernae. Judging from the small finds, in this settlement period B/C Iatrus was also inhabited by Goths and other barbarian tribes.
