Anthrax of Familia Gladiatoria
#1
An ironically not while doing re-enactment! Cry
Last Monday, Anthrax, one of the leading gladiators of Familia Gladiatoria Pannonica was drowned in a swimming accident in Italy, where the group had been performing at Viladose.
Notwithstanding they will keep their appointment with us for our Ludi Veleienses on next week-end.
SIT TIBI TERRA LEVIS ANTHRAX! Cry

It\'s all an accident, an accident of hands. Mine, others, all without mind, from one extreme to another, but neither works nor will ever.

Yes, their comrades and us will perform in his honor Cry
I haven't got much information at the time but he wasn't doing re-enactment, he was swimming (Se ahogó mientras nadaba). The group was proceeding for Spain after a show in Italy.

Please pass on our sympathies from Ludus. Never a nice thing to happen no matter how or when. We wish his family, friends and the group every success for the future and all of our thoughts for the present.

Thanks, Graham!
I shall meet them this evening. We, the organizers of the Ludi Veleienses must thank the Familia Gladiatoria for fulfilling their appointment with us even under these extremely sad circumstances. One more proof of their high professionality :!:

Was he at Hjemsted (Denmark) this year? We barely met the group as they were leaving when we arrived this year, but I feel that in a way we're "relatives" and companions because we use to have this connection albeit a brief one. My condolances.

Thanks, folks!
Anthrax was one of the best gladiators of the group. He was easy to recognize (when not dressing a helmet) because his head was clean saved.
