Help with Helmet Type
#1
Avete omnes,

I have this vague recollection of seeing a particular type of Roman helmet that had not only a usual carrying handle on the neckguard, but a pair of circular rings at its corners as well- but I'm not even what type it was or even if there was one... does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Valete

I think that the helmet you are refering to is a Deepeeka version of the Imperial Gallic I from Mainz.

Unfortunately they have misinterpreted the large flat-headed rivets/studs and small plates holding the edging onto the neckguard and in their place have put large brass rings!

A simple enough thing to rectify however.

Matt Amt has a nice photo on his website of a "corrected" helmet.
