Ducati SS 900 - there was one that got away - poor me .

Any non-AMF Harley - I built a custom Sportster that was a monster (96 cubic inches - this was built as a street racer).

Norton Commando - bought one at a swap meet, and sold it for double what I paid less than 20 minutes later...

Triumph Trident - had one - cranky as hell, went like the Dickens.

Bimota DB1 (a friend had one that I coveted greatly)

BMW - ANY of their opposed twins. Nice to work on, when I am an old man, I'll tour the world on a Paris-Dakar model with my pipe clenched in my teeth...

I have to admit, I learned how to ride on a late 60's San Francisco HD chopper (no front brakes, jockey shift and 'slam' clutch) but I have a real soft spot for classic scooters (Vespas and Lambrettas) at one point my half of the garage held two motorcycles (the Sportster and the Trident) and 15 scooters in various stages of restoration - they're fun to work on and companies like Polini make some great aftermarket race parts...

I will also add a bit of bike wisdom passed to me from a fellow that raced on the circuit in the 60's:

"The only reason that the Brits don't make televisions, is that they haven't figured out how to make them leak oil..."
Great motorcycles you have, I love the Trident and the Sportster, why don't you post them?

I must confess : I've a new production Triumph Bonneville T100, not an old classic one just due to the well known oil problems, it's almost perfect now, not so fascinating but sure and completely not oil spotting...

Have you seen the new Commando?

It looks great...

BTW of the Vespa and Pollini's kits, in 1991 I was in a taxi along the (only) highway of Tahiti (French Polinesia) from Papeete to the airport, I was amazed when a little Vespa 50 surpassed us..., I looked the speed of the taxi, it was 120 Km/h! That polinesian Vespa had a Pollini decal on the butt... If you saw fast vespas in Italy was normal, but in the 1991 Polinesia!
I like the old Kawasaki H2 1975. One of the original crotch rocket death machines. I still own one and it is a 750cc two stroke monster. Power curve at 4k rpm, red line at 12k. Quarter mile in the high ten's which is not bad for that old of a bike.

Off the top of my head, I like:

Norton Commando (new or old, doesn't matter)
Moto Guzzi Le Mans (Mk. III or IIII)
Aprillia Mille
Suzuki SV 650
Do we see a tendency towards fast bikes here? Yup, you bet.

I also like:
Suzuki GT 550 (my first real bike)
and, of course,
Suzuki GSX 600F (my present bike)

Ah! if only we didn't get slammed with ridiculous taxes in Denmark (120% vehicle tax + 180% luxury tax+ 25% VAT).
Oh, slammed it's the right world!!

Anyway, it looks like the Norton Commando be a really beloved bike, by any kind of people, maybe because of its unforgettable "sound" too ...
