A similar eagle/vexillum type of standard can be seen on Trajan's Column, associated with a scene of Traj' adressing mail clad soldiers (auxiliaries?)
So: what about the use of the eagle associated with a vexillum --or something else for auxiliaries?
The "Lone Eagle" --whether or not laureate-- being reserved for the
legions?

PS: after a second look, the signum of the left could pretty well be decorated with a double galley prow, but to be honest, it's seriously damaged..

the fella whose monument is in plate 5 c and d was recorded as serving in an auxiliary unit but the standard includes an eagle



the fella from plate 12 a served in both legion and guard
and his standards also include eagles

Yup, correct. Just commenting that the guy who is attested in the guard, shows standards with scorpiones. The unknown standards this thread is about, cannot be shown to be praetorian therefore. That's my argument.
