I know most 20th century reenactors would not be interested, I think we might be two of a handful ourselves.

It might be a good idea to try to recruit from colleges, if you can convince the professors to let us on. I know however that many college professors look down on us reenactors so I'm not sure how amiable they would be to our presence, especially armed to the teeth. The thing is, I believe a fair number of students, especially the history majors, might be willing to try it out. Add to the fact that a barbarian impression is attainable even for a cash strapped college student and you've got a fair sized recruiting pool.

I might be willing to try recruiting LARPers on a small scale, though I've dealt with them before and most of them are more interested in fantisy than history and would be likely turned off by high authenticity standards.
