Keltica Iron Age Village
#1
I got this email and a follow up phone call from Bill Marshall-Hall, who's developing a living history in Canada, due to open next year. Being yet another computer challenged reenactor, he asked that I post this to let folks know his intentions and get comments.

Dear Mr. Campbell,

Today I just by chance happened to find the Roman Civ Talk webpage.

It would appear that a lot of re-enactors are talking about Keltica Iron
Age Village, which is great, but I noticed a couple of people whom seem to
have completely the wrong end of the stick, so if I may, I would like to
just make enthusiasts aware of exactly my motives behind Keltica.

Before emigrating to Canada, I was involved with various historical
re-enactment groups in U.K for ten years. I started off as a Viking, fell
into Medieval times and finished my time for five years as a member of
Legio VIII Augusta based in North Wales, U.K.

I have also been active in Celtic groups such as , Silures, Brigantia and
the disbanded Prytani. Most of the major scars on my body come from live
steel. So I can truly say, I have held the line at Hastings, led from the
front at the battle of Stirling Bridge, and waded through the water from a
Norse longship in my time.

For the past five years before coming to Canada, I was involved with Time
Tours, as small company which travelled around schools and colleges in U.K
teaching aspects of Iron Age European culture.

The Keltica project is only an entreprenurial project because if I have to
live in North America, I want to make my living doing what I am passionate
about. No More , No Less.

The website for Keltica is primarily designed for people whom are not into
re-enactment but whom are interested in the periods portrayed. Contrary to
popular belief, Keltica is not intended to be and never will be, (Whilst I
am Alive) a Celtic Disney world.

Moreover, Keltica supports and wishes to encourage any and all
re-enactors, artisans and groups to be a part of it. That's what its going
to be built for. However, I cannot make Kelica be all things to all
people.

Currently, depist a pessimistic Government here in Canada, the business is
on track to begin construction this year. This is my first and last big
business vision and I want to make it very clear, I only have one chance
at making this a reality. I only have one house to sell in U.K and if
Keltica doesn't happen, I will be finished financially for the forseeable
future.

So I wnat to go on record and say, If anyone from any group has any
questions regarding the Keltica project, I stand here with open arms, IF
your group is authentic, come on over.

If anyone out there is not sure about anything....just call me, or e-mail
me, If I can make Keltica work....You All Benefit.

On a slightly different note, I want to try and get a full century
together for the weekend we open in 2006. Keltica will have about 20
legionaries at the time, so if anyone from U.K or Canada or U.S or
anywhere else wants to come and be a part of this, let me know.

P.S We genuinley have a position availabe for full time Centurion. If
anyone is interested in relocating and working with Keltica full time, as
a Centurion please send me your resumes and we will send you more
information.

Sincerely,

William Marshall-Hall
CEO Keltica

Nobody down here knows, or if they do, they're not saying. Odds are they ran out of money. It was/is a very ambitious project.
