I used to be a miles gregarius. Then I worked hard and became a signifer. I worked a little harder and shifted some earth and became an optio spei. I did some more work, built some fortifications and laid out a road or two and became ... an optio spei again. The centurio did not die and so I stayed optio spei for a long long time, and then suddenly I became - a registered member and became confused. I dug a little, built new barriers against invasion and pioneered amphibious warfare and became - SIGNIFER again!<br>
