Spears from the Imperium Romanum
#16
In the 18th month of this project I have finally obtained and read:

Randsborg, Klaus (1995) Hjortspring: Warfare and Sacrifice in Early Europe (Aarhus University Press, Aarhus DK)

Its definitely a remarkable book that should be better known by classicists!

I can only get that by interlibrary loan, I can not get Kaul 1988 at all (no ILL, for sale at Danish bookstores not set up to ship outside the EU). As always, my updates on this project have been and will be on my site and in print such as my forthcoming article "Get to the Point: What Questions Should We Ask About a Spear?" My thanks to people who suggested references and archaeological finds are there too (my apologies if I missed anyone)
Nullis in verba

I have not checked this forum frequently since 2013, but I hope that these old posts have some value. I now have a blog on books, swords, and the curious things humans do with them.
