A kit for a family
#1
Salvete,

I am at the moment working on my Impression of a late first-century Roman centurion. My family seems to share my interest in history, as my son (5) got a kit (consisting of tunica, scutum, wooden gladius, lorica segmentata, and a helmet) for his birthday, and now my wife just asked me to make her an appropriate dress too.

Which brings me to the question, how did a wife of a wealthy centurion look like? Especially, which kinds of fibulae, shoes, jewelry and so on...
How much stuff did an Officer get to carry around? For my Kit, I do know which types of gladius and which armour was appropriate, but all those small details which make the impression good are really hard to find.

Also, what did children, boys and girls wear?

So I'd be very glad if you could help me out

Florian
