Archaeon anyone?

Oh, Jasper, you DON'T have shoes? I thought you said you had bought some for Xanten. Well, no worry, your big Dutch flippers will no doubt fit into the (as yet unused) shoes I bought for my husband. Now start working on tanning your fuzzy pink legs!

Graham, what a relief! I've always been a closet wearer of chain mail... but it does pinch in all the wrong places when it's worn on skin alone...
Hmmm, I'd REALLY, REALLY rather be a walking RA.com advertising stand. If I ever reenact, I want to do it for real, not as some half-assed peregrine (and that's NO comment on the quality of your work, mind you!).
Greets
I don't have serious ambitions as a reenactress. You have no idea how difficult it is going to be for me to step out in costume in public with a straight face. I'm afraid I'll be busting out laughing every fourth step! How realistic is that?

However, one must try everything at least once, twice if you like it, so I'm willing to give it a whirl.

I'll call you soon about the arrangements.
I shall be attending Archeon also with my motley collection of mosaics, attempting to bring the twin lights of art and culture to the proceedings.Though at times this is a bit of a uphill struggle what with the other attractions, one minute you have an appretiative audience the next minute they announce the gladiator show, and everyone buggers off to the arena. After all what could possibly compete with the spectacle of a bunch of semi-literate buffoons prancing about half naked in the sand ,waving their penis substitutes around their heads,(yours is a felt one? oh dear.).Still one does ones best.See you their if you're coming to visit.
I feel your pain, but generally laugh at it, after all I just paid that crowd of people to come and look at your display so you didn't feel bad.
Thank you Graham you do look after me.Seriously I do look forward to our time in Holland the bathouse is a superb example, just crying out to be decorated. And as far as Gladiator arenas go nothing can really compere with waiting in the tunnel before your fight listening to the sounds of the crowd the other side, desparatly wanting to throw your guts up!If you're coming over and want to see the Ludus fights you'll need to get a seat early as they fill up and then have people 3 deep on the sand.
