Niedermoermter Helmet
#1
Dear members,  Smile

my name´s Frank and I´m from germany.
I recently made a decision ......"I want a roman helmet"  Rolleyes
But...what kind ?
Well.... the answer wasn´t that complicated.... cause since a while I fell in love with the Niedermoermter helmet, formerly in the Guttmann collection.
Found a blacksmith that can make a custom one for me.

Trouble is that I couldn´t find any high resolution images...where you can zoom in to see the details.
Does anyone here knows someone who could help me out ?

On the images that I could find the "pearl trim" looks kind of copper toned to me, is that correct ?

The other issue that I have are the cheek pieces....
I found this thread from Jeffrey Hildebrandt here : https://www.romanarmytalk.com/rat/thread-30468.html
Like the shape .... do you think it might could be that the cheek pieces had any additional decoration ?

Sorry I'm not that well-versed in 3rd c. helmets.

What additional decoration do you have in mind?

Hi,  Smile

sorry for my late reply ....having problem with the login.

Well...I mean...since the cheek pieces are missing it´s pretty much a guess.
But as far as I could figure it out there were  helmets that had decorations on the cheek pieces.
Like this for example :

or this one
