riveted patera
#1
In a book I just got on Roman Bath, there are numerous patera recovered from the sacred well, and all the handles on them are riveted in place. This goes sort of against what I was told that patera were all pounded out of a single piece of bronze, or hinged. Other than Bath, does anyone know of other finds of patera that were riveted?
the book is Barry Cunliffe's "Roman Bath Rediscovered" from Tempus Publishing.

It's just that in our group the insistence is on a solid patera, which is a lot more trouble to make. I hope the riveted one holds up to scrutiny, as I can then get one!
