Roman Army Work Day
#1
I know the Roman civilan rose early.  The aristocracy, I think, quit at noon.  I would imagine the plebes and slaves had no such leisure.
But what about the army?  What was their typical work day?
And, when the work day was over and the guards were posted for the "non-working" rest of the day, did the Officer of the Day (Optio custodiarum?) set up his office in the commander's office?

As always, thank you in advance.
