1st Century Roman Scabbard Parts.
#1
Is there any evidence of a metal plate at the mouth of roman scabbards for a Mainz, Fulham, Pompeii, or Spatha?

I may not be calling it the proper name, but it would be a plate with the hole that the sword passes through.  I am trying to find research or evidence of scabbards with those plates.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

A plate that goes across the mouth of the scabbard, to my knowledge no, but I will check. Only thing is the locket or band that goes around the top.
