HELP REQUEST: REENACTORS
#1
Hi,

I am reconstructing ancient Roman ships on my computers. But what is a ship without crew? I want to populate my Roman ships (merchant ships and warships) with crews, and UNCLE CAESAR NEEDS YOU!

If you want to support me, here is what I need:
- photos of you as single reenavtor
- or in small groups with others (if they agree)
- legionaries, archers, oarsmen, catapultae & ballistae staff, regular sailors (all Roman & Egyptian)
- centurion, optio, beneficiarius, principales, immunes

But there are certain rules:
- if there are more than one person in this photo, all need to be of the same size (perspective), I cannot use photos where the persons behind are recognozably smaller
- if anyhow possible, I need plain background, that makes it easy to digitally cut you out
- standing positions, attack positions, rowing position (rowers and soldiers), slightly bending down to pick up something
- front view, slidely side view, side view
- never from slightly above or slightly below

When mounted on a ship, the persons will be rather small, you can hardly see the details of their faces.
Also, you can admit several (or many) photos of yourself, as the faces cannot be seen properly and therefore a person multiple times occuring in different positions would not be recognized as such.

Please assist. Thank you.

Thanks a lot. I contact the owner of that FB page and requested her to connect me to reenactors.

Koehler (Herford) is a house known to me, they also published the great book about the Roman Navy "Classis Romana - Die römische Flotte" by H.D.L. Viereck. A MUST for everyone who is interested in Romans and their ships.

I think, I need to connect to reenactment groups. Do you know any members of those groups?
