Putting together a kit
#1
Bought the Daniyal shield "Kraken" and modified the paint job with casein.  Have decided on a round gorgon effigy in NuGold for the front which I will beat into low relief.

Have had a little time to work on effigy:

After once over, I will decide if I want to anneal and polish things up further.

Painted my Deepeeka brass helmet with red casein.  I LIKE this helmet; it fits my head very well.

And new Xiphos:

I have around 300 brass Deepeeka scales; I was going to use them on my twined T&Y armour, but I think I will use them to make a scale gorget to wear with my spolas. I think this was sometimes done, from what I've seen..

Looking good!
What's the weight on that shield? I'm working on one now but it's still 20lbs.

Hey!  How have you been?  Smile  I believe it weighs about 17.5 lbs; that's what it was advertised as, iirc.  I am going to have to buy a scale!   Sad
I'm looking forward to pics of your Greek impression!

I've been good, thanks!  I'm slowly putting it together.  You can see it at the "other" place. Smile  I inherited some of Matt's stuff but what I really need is for Jeff to make me a trifoil ciurass!
